$8,000 sweater

Have you seen the Louis Vuitton $8,000 sweater?

Attached is a link to the New York Post article and pictures.  https://nypost.com/2021/02/10/louis-vuittons-8k-puppet-sweater-has-people-all-up-in-arms/

I know, it looks hilarious and its 8K.
Yes, it resembles a toy chest.
Yes, it looks like Muppet Babies threw up on a sweater.
I especially like the frog on the shoulder, it's like Kermit is sipping his tea.
What about the monkey face down on his back? Can't get the monkey off your back?
See the fashionable one in the front, how come they get the hat and scarf?
What about what looks like a drugged out big bird with the red eyes.

All true statements. I even asked my nieces and nephews their thoughts and they loved this sweater. They were like does it come in kids sizes. So it does have some widespread appeal but did you realize it was a social commentary.

This sweater is part of Virgil Abloh's latest collection. I like Virgil Abloh's designs despite some of his verbal missteps (See: looting and a $50 BLM donation) SIGH! Have you seen Off-White? I want every single item! I went to see his exhibit at the MCA in Chicago, I could only afford a pin but I still have it. I say all that to say, he puts thought into every design, he designs with a purpose. So, what might be the thought and purpose behind the use of the muppet reunion pieces?

Well, I think, it's an homage to Lady Gaga who wore the Kermit-the-frog outfit in 2009. We will get into why she wore this outfit in a moment.

Secondly, LVMH (parent company to Louis Vuitton) came under fire for their use of fur and leather. LVMH states their animal biproducts are ethically obtained, but PETA doesn't agree and as early as a month ago continues to write articles about LVMH.  They urge the switch to vegan leathers/furs, as their was no way to concretely tell whether animal biproducts are ethically obtained.

I think, both Lady Gaga and LVMH share political agendas. What's a way to bring awareness to fur bans without actually wearing fur? Why not stick animals all over the garment. Let's make them cute and beloved creatures like Kermit the frog.  It shows their thoughts of absurdity around the entire conversation. Not only will we continue to wear and use animals, we will use even the Muppets to create our fashion. Lady Gaga has gone so far as to wear a meat dress made out of actual steaks, but you get the picture.

In other words, we will make what we want without your social commentary. I find it amusing their priced the sweater/coat at the same price as their actual furs. Here PETA is a sweater you might approve of... lol

I will say, I do wear and use leather products, and I have worn fur. I also own vegan products and eat a primarily plant diet. I am on neither side of the issue, but I can enjoy the cheap fodder between the two giants.

Do you support LVMH and their supposed stance to make clothes out of whatever they see fit?

This sweater is made to order. Will you be getting one?

Don't let the bougie fool you, I said I was from Woodlawn : 36 questions about me

I haven't felt like myself in a long time and for the first time in years, I feel renewed and awake and happy. I thought I would take advantage of the lift out of the fog of depression and reintroduce myself. 1.Where did I grow up? Chicago, Woodlawn to be exact. My Instagram handle is Kurlykrysbchi... I will always be part of the Chi. 2. What's the most Midwest thing about me? Hmmm. The fact that I can pronounce Illinois correctly? I add an S on the end of proper store names: Jewels, Walgreens? My love of Portillos? The way I turn up my nose at everyone else's downtown? I say pop instead of soda? I say gym shoes, instead of sneakers? You choose. 3. Where do I currently live? Rural Arizona... send prayers! I'm afraid of everything and the thorns have destroyed 3 pairs of Adidas gym shoes. 4. Best friend? I have a few and they will always be my friends. I have in innate ability to always make an amazing friend. If only I had that same discernment when it came to dating.  ...

Arizona scares the shit out of me

Can We Talk about How Arizona Scares the Shit Out of Me?  I currently live between two mountain ranges. The sunrises and sunsets are the most beautiful I have seen. The night sky is something out of textbooks, as I look at the big and little dipper every night. There is no time change, so no wondering about when it happens as it never does and as a result it doesn't get dark early here. Right now in "winter" it is 65 degrees and it gets dark at 6pm. It is a beautiful place to live and I think I needed to be here to reconnect with nature and myself. I know for the following reasons Arizona could never be my forever home, as it makes no sense.  No seriously this damn state has some of the craziest things I have ever seen. These lovely trees behind me are covered in thorns, long spiky thorns. You can't pet or touch any plant without stabbing yourself. If you thought cactuses were bad (they are) mesquite trees are worse. There was one right by the car park and I was movin...

I Have Grown Tired of Sharing my Messy Diatribes as I Felt at Some Point I Felt the Energy Changed from Laughing with Me to Laughing at Me.  I am not someone who particularly cares what people think, or so I thought. What you think about me is actually none of my business. I do however use what people say to me to know if I like how I presenting myself.  Is this how I want people to talk about me when they are not in my presense? Is this how I want to be portrayed? Is what I am putting out is reflecting back to me in the way I intend? The answers were honestly no. People have stated on more than one occasion "I get sad when you are in a healthy relationship, like what am I going to read. and I miss you being messy and just ruthless."  My response is usually so don't want to see me happy? And they always respond, "No, No! You are entitled to your happy, I just enjoy you most when you are unhappy." I had to sit with that for a while. Some people weren't rooti...
