Don't let the bougie fool you, I said I was from Woodlawn : 36 questions about me

I haven't felt like myself in a long time and for the first time in years, I feel renewed and awake and happy. I thought I would take advantage of the lift out of the fog of depression and reintroduce myself.

1.Where did I grow up?

Chicago, Woodlawn to be exact. My Instagram handle is Kurlykrysbchi... I will always be part of the Chi.

2. What's the most Midwest thing about me?

Hmmm. The fact that I can pronounce Illinois correctly? I add an S on the end of proper store names: Jewels, Walgreens? My love of Portillos? The way I turn up my nose at everyone else's downtown? I say pop instead of soda? I say gym shoes, instead of sneakers? You choose.

3. Where do I currently live?

Rural Arizona... send prayers! I'm afraid of everything and the thorns have destroyed 3 pairs of Adidas gym shoes.

4. Best friend?

I have a few and they will always be my friends. I have in innate ability to always make an amazing friend. If only I had that same discernment when it came to dating.

18. Single or taken?

Sooooo single. But I think I am done dating, at least for now. Men are exhausting, and I just can't do it anymore. The stupidity I have encountered over the last 5 years has left me wondering if that is all I am capable of attracting. If that is the case, I am removing the common factor. ME! If I liked women, I swear I would be a happy complete lesbian. I also have the habit of putting my significant others needs before my own and I want to be selfish for a while. I am putting myself first and it feels great.

19. Dream date?

Me and a divorced Michael Ealy... I joke, I kid (Kinda) No, but really an outside, warm day. Long ride down lake shore drive with the windows down, with the destination being maybe a festival or a lakeside/beach picnic. Quality time together while walking around to see the sights and dancing to the music playing, a few homemade cocktails. Peaceful..

36. One thing about me that you don't currently know?

37. Last thoughts?

I'm quirky and weird.  I have ratchet and respectable moments (shout out to Demetria L Lucas). I can listen to the same song 20 times in a row and never tire of it. I love to laugh above anything else. I love hard, and I hate harder. Don't let the bougie fool you, I said I was from Woodlawn.

Happy Mother's Day or Whomever you celebrate...

Mother’s Day is hard for me Because I had a mother figure for a few years but I basically raised myself. So this day is a reminder of what I had and what I lost. What I might have had, what I might have one day and what I will never have... I make no secret that my mom committed suicide when I was 4.  So this day just makes me sad, but not just for me. I’m sad for lots of people. To the girls that didn’t have a positive mother figure.  To those that lost their mothers far too soon. To those that wanted to become mothers but can’t.  To those still fighting to become a mother. To those that had mothers who were inherently toxic.  To those that had to mother themselves.  To those that waited a lifetime to become a mother. To those that are aunts and friends who assist in mothering.  To those that just didn’t want children but mother their friends, or help others.  To those that just wanted solace in their adulthood’s after their toxic childhoods. Body Count

Seeing as today is Fat Tuesday and tomorrow marks the First day of Lent. I thought you would like to know I am giving up men who think MBJ and Russell Wilson are simps for loving their women.  So Lori Harvey, model and socialite is now dating the actor Michael B Jordan. I have to admit they are adorable. He went all out for Valentine's Day and rented out an aquarium just so they could look at the turtles (he calls her turtle) while they dined on Nobu. Men are up in arms over Lori Harvey being happy with Michael B Jordan. They deem her less worthy because she has dated quite a few well named individuals. (see: Trey Songz, Louis Hamilton, Future, Diddy, and Justin Combs) So Ciara, my Goodies singer, is married to Russell Wilson. The All American, God-fearing, loving football quarterback. Before she was attached to the football star with whom she shares 2 biological children and one child from a previous relationship, she was linked to some industry men (see: future, bow wow and Amare...
